Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Assistant Tech Imaging to support technologists, nurses, and physicians in Imaging Services. The role centers on coordinating patient flow and preparing rooms and equipment for procedures.

Responsibilities include assisting with exams, explaining procedures, handling orders, and ensuring accurate patient information and smooth operation of scheduling systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem solving and organizational skills.
• Demonstrates computer skills.
• CPR Certification (BLS).

Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating patient flow in imaging departments.
• Prepare procedure rooms and equipment before patient arrival.
• Explain exams and answer basic questions; know MR Safety if assigned to MR.
• Assist in performing exam/procedure as directed by technologist/nurse.
• Retrieve physician orders from EPIC, Chartview, Powerchart and other systems.
• Monitor scheduling to ensure efficient patient flow and communicate delays to staff.
• Coordinate patient care with clinical and medical staff according to imaging protocols.
• Ensure paperwork is prepared and patient demographic data is accurate.
