Job summary

Broan NuTone LLC on the Wisconsin production floor is seeking an Assistant Team Leader to help manage daily production on the line. You will work with the Team Lead and Supervisor to address faults, restock parts, and execute the daily schedule, acting as Team Leader in their absence.

You will train operators, model safe practices, pursue continuous improvement, and support safety investigations, coaching staff and maintaining accurate timekeeping as part of a high-performing team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (completed).
• Experienced level in job function.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel etc).
• Demonstrated leadership qualities, professionalism, accountability, communication, and positive attitude.
• Clear and concise written and verbal communications.
• Knowledge of Lean concepts, 5S, and Continuous Improvement practices.
• Capable and willing to train other team members.

Responsibilities

• Attend to operators’ needs as issues arise during production.
• Train new operators on process, continuous improvement and standard daily metrics.
• Uphold and model safe work practices. Proactively seek opportunities to improve safety.
• Work proactively to address issues and engage the workforce to achieve work area MDI goals.
• Execute the overall assignment of work within respective area with the supervisor and other team leaders to attain business needs.
• Document and provide detailed performance observations to Team Lead and Supervisor.
• Coach employee for improved performance.
• Uphold a high degree of confidentiality.
• Assist safety investigations and complete necessary reports.
• Communicate incidents to appropriate level as needed.
• Participate in selection of new associates and assist Supervisor during interview process.
• Provide leadership and direction with emphasis on team building through daily MDI meetings, effective communications, and develop an efficient team that is responsive to production requirements and changes.
• Partner with supervisor and employees on employee related policies and practices.
• Respond to employee questions and provide assistance when needed.
• Demonstrate 100% commitment to safety, quality, and MDI process.
• Ensure highest process standards are being achieved.
• Display management courage to uphold policies, processes, and appropriate behavior.
• Act as back up to maintain accurate employee timekeeping records.
