Job Description

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at FairfieldUniversity seeks applications for a non-tenure track AssistantTeaching Professor of Spanish, with an emphasis in Latin Americanstudies and culture, to begin in the fall of 2027, pending finalbudget approval. Teaching responsibilities include four classes persemester (with a maximum of three preparations). The successfulcandidate will be responsible for teaching courses at all levels ofour Spanish undergraduate curriculum, including elementary andintermediate-level courses. Candidates should have a demonstrated record of excellence inteaching at the university level. Previous experience havingcoordinated Spanish language programs at the undergraduate levelwill be greatly valued. We seek candidates who will contribute tothe University's core curriculum priorities of writing across thecurriculum, social justice, and interdisciplinarity. The successfulcandidate should expect to participate in department, college anduniversity-wide service, and may contribute to otherinterdisciplinary programs in the Meditz College of Arts andSciences.

The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures consists of 15full-time faculty members, teaching a dynamic curriculum andengaged in exciting faculty research representing a range offields, such as peninsular and Latin American literature andcinema, cultural studies, linguistics, translation, or Spanish forspecific purposes.
