Roosevelt University’s Mathematics program is currently seeking a full-time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Mathematics starting August 15, 2025. The primary teaching assignment involves teaching 24 credits per year in the areas of developmental mathematics, quantitative literacy, introductory statistics, college algebra, pre-calculus, and the calculus sequence. The assignment also includes curriculum development and assessment, mentoring and supervising adjunct faculty and/or tutors, participation in the governance process through work in normal professional activities, committee work, and student activities.

Applications will be reviewed with an expected start date for the fall semester, August 15, 2025, and end date of May 15, 2026. This position is renewable.

The salary range for this position is $52,000-$58,000.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
  • Masters in Mathematics or related field
  • Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of students.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Excel and computer-assisted learning platforms, such as MyLabs Math.
Years of Experience Required

1-2 years teaching at the university level.

Minimum Qualifications

Refer to knowledge, skills and abilities above.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with at-risk and/or first-generation college students.
  • PhD in mathematics, statistics, or mathematics education.
  • Experience in teaching statistics, teaching using Excel, or teaching the prospective K-8 classroom teacher.
  • Commitment to the innovation and improvement of teaching, including supplemental software programs and tools.
  • Experience supervising students and/or faculty.
  • Experience with course design utilizing computer assisted math instruction.
Working Conditions

Normal climate-controlled office environment is provided. Job is largely sedentary, but there is a need to move about the office and buildings frequently. Occasional bending, stooping, lifting, pushing and/or pulling is required (typically less than 10 pounds).
