Job summary

The Assistant Teacher at FBC Ashland's Child Care Development Center supports a safe, Christ-centered classroom where children grow academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. You partner with the Lead Teacher to plan engaging activities and communicate with families.

This role requires at least one year of experience with young children, CPR and First Aid certification, and the ability to pass background checks and Virginia licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience teaching young children in a licensed setting.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Ability to pass all required background checks and Virginia licensing requirements.

Employment Status: Full-Time/Part-Time, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

The Assistant Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment where children can grow academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. The Assistant Teacher works with the Lead Teacher to implement engaging learning experiences, build strong relationships with families, and maintains compliance with all licensing and accreditation standards. The Assistant Teacher serves as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, teamwork, integrity, and a genuine love for children.
