GOEBEL FIXTURE COMPANY's YMCA-associated Gold-Rated Early Learning Center in Cincinnati is hiring an Assistant Teacher on a part-time basis. You will create a safe, nurturing environment and support children’s growth through hands-on activities, play, and guided learning.

You will work with a supportive team, follow licensing standards, maintain records, implement age-appropriate curriculum, ensure ratios, and engage families through communication and events.

As an Assistant Teacher, you'll help create a safe, nurturing, and fun learning environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive every day! Working alongside our teaching team, you will:

  • Support the daily operation of the classroom while meeting YMCA, state, and local licensing standards.
  • Maintain accurate classroom records and documentation.
  • Assist with implementing engaging, age-appropriate curriculum, activities, and routines that support each child's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development.
  • Ensure appropriate staff-to-child ratios are maintained at all times.
  • Help manage and care for classroom materials, supplies, and resources.
  • Create inclusive learning experiences using diverse, multicultural, anti-bias, and non-sexist materials and activities.
  • Encourage active play and physical development through both indoor and outdoor experiences.
  • Help maintain a healthy, safe, and secure environment for all children.
  • Contribute to a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom.
  • Foster a classroom atmosphere that encourages curiosity, exploration, creativity, and positive play.
  • Collaborate with coworkers and maintain open communication with supervisors to support a strong team environment.
  • Use positive guidance techniques to help children develop self-confidence, self-control, and social-emotional skills.
  • Follow all YMCA Child Protection policies, child abuse prevention guidelines, and reporting procedures.
  • Build positive relationships with families through regular communication and participation in family events and meetings.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of YMCA values, child care policies, and program standards while helping maintain a high‑quality early learning experience.
  • Serve as a role model for YMCA character values and contribute to our mission of building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities.
  • Take on additional responsibilities and opportunities as needed to support the success of the program.
