Job Responsibilities

1. Become informed concerning rules, policies, and regulations of the center and school district and follow them.
2. Be responsible for the supervision of children at all times throughout the school day.
3. Have an understanding of child development, developmentally appropriate instructional methods, and techniques of effective classroom management.
4. Ensure all work is done professionally, with proper preparation, initiative, and problem-solving skills.
5. Contribute to a positive, cooperative center environment through group decision-making and teamwork.
6. Follow directions from the lead teacher and cooperate with parents and staff to maintain good community relationships.
7. Attend professional meetings and center-related activities; obtain all required continuing education as mandated by Missouri Department of Health, Bureau of Child Care licensing, and/or Missouri Accreditation.
8. Handle all confidential information professionally.
9. Maintain classroom, equipment, and playground in good condition; report repairs promptly.
10. Be punctual and responsible; clear absences with the center director and record them within five business days.
11. Perform any other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher, Director, or Principal.
