Job summary

The International School of Louisiana is seeking a dedicated classroom assistant to support teachers and students in a dynamic educational environment. You will help deliver instruction, prepare learning materials, and participate in MTSS interventions to ensure every student progresses.

Candidates should have an Associate degree and at least 3 years of experience with children in education. This role emphasizes professionalism, teamwork, and a commitment to the school’s mission and diversity

Qualifications

  • Associate degree required.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with children in an educational setting.
  • Target language proficiency where appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Support general supervision and management of a class with individual and group instruction.
  • Assist in planning, preparing learning environments, and materials.
  • Collaborate with teachers to implement MTSS interventions.
  • Attend staff meetings and training programs as required.
  • Maintain professional conduct and classroom discipline.

The employee must understand and support the school mission.Summary:Responsible for assisting with the general supervision and management of a class including individual and group instructions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Timely, in person, and regular attendanceWorks cooperatively with the classroom teacher to implement the curriculumWorks with Classroom Teachers and others to support ISL’s Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) through “pushing in” to the classroom as well as “pulling-out” students in small group or individually for interventionsSubstitutes for teachers in their absenceAssists in planning and preparing the learning environment and preparing needed materials and suppliesHelps to provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning processModels professional behavior when dealing with students, parents, peers, and communityAttends all staff meetings, recommended training programs, conferences and school functionsInteracts collaboratively and productively with school site personnelExpresses thoughts professionally in oral and written languageWorks with Computer/Technology Applications (Student Data base, Google Classroom, Google Suite: Documents, Slides, Sheets and Google Meets)Navigates online learning platformsKeeps abreast of current research, trends and issues in education by engaging in professional development activitiesMaintains compliance with all school policies and proceduresThe International School of Louisiana retains the right to change or assign other duties to this positionWork Environment:Listed below are key points regarding environmental demands and the work environment of the job.
