Job summary

Uncommonly Awesome Learning Lab seeks an Assistant Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year in Mountain View. The microschool serves a small group of twice-exceptional, neurodivergent, and gifted students in grades 3–8 with a personalized, hands-on approach.

Responsibilities include leading small groups, helping students complete tasks, building social skills, and organizing materials. Hours are Mon-Fri 12:30–5:30pm, Aug–May, start Aug 17 for in-service training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; college coursework in education is a plus.
• Experience working with children in formal or informal settings.
• Ability to pass a background check and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Support small groups in games, crafts, and outdoor activities.
• Help students complete independent tasks.
• Chat with students to build social skills.
• Supervise older students during learning activities.
• Assist in organizing materials and setting up activities.
• Clean up after experiments or art projects.
