Job summary

Mid Island Y JCC in Plainview, NY is seeking an Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our Early Childhood team. The candidate should be a self-starter, responsible, punctual, tidy, and a team player who can support the lead teacher and maintain a nurturing classroom environment.

The role requires knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices and NYS OCFS regulations. A High School Diploma is required, and prior experience with children is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for the age group.
• Knowledge of NYS OCFS Regulations.
• Experience working with children is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teacher and support classroom activities.
• Maintain a clean and organized learning environment.
• Collaborate with staff to meet children’s needs and ensure safety.

Pay: $17.00 per hour (Full-time)

Schedule: Monday to Friday

The Mid Island Y JCC is seeking a candidate who loves children, is a self-starter, responsible, punctual, tidy, a team player and someone who can support the lead teacher effectively. You must understand the needs of children in your desired age group and know how to keep their environment in good order.

Requirements:

• knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for the age group they are working with and the
• NYS OCFS Regulations

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Previous experience working with children preferred
