Job summary

Jewish Community Center of Youngstown is seeking a support staff floater for the Early Learning Center. The role covers closing duties, breaks, requested time off, and vacations, with responsibility for all infants and toddlers.

The position includes assisting teachers, maintaining ratios, and communicating with families and staff. Hours are 10am-6pm, and a High School diploma is required with preferred Early Childhood Education experience. Excellent benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma is required.
• 1 year of Early Childhood Education coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in the classroom to maintain ratios and safety per DCY licensure.
• Assist with bathroom breaks, outdoor activities, and behavior management.
• Complete daily closing duties including laundry, dishes, and classroom cleanup.
• Coordinate with the Lead Teacher to continue activities during the afternoon.
• Provide positive communication to parents/guardians during pick up.
• Attend staff meetings and cooperate with colleagues and families.
• Adhere to JCC policies and contribute to its mission, vision, and core values.
• Complete additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Essential Functions

• Assist teachers in the classroom environment ensuring ratios are maintained. Observe students to ensure safety according to DCY licensure guidelines.
• Assist with bathroom breaks, outdoor activities, and behavior management.
• Complete daily closing duties including laundry, dishes, and classroom clean up.
• Coordinate with the Lead Teacher to continue planned activities during afternoon hours.
• Provide positive and detailed communication to parents/guardians during pick up.
• Communicate and cooperate with colleagues and families as part of the Early Learning team, including attending staff meetings as needed.
• Adhere to all JCC and departmental policies, while contributing to its mission, vision and core values.
• Complete all additional duties as assigned by supervisors.
