Job summary

Little Scholars is seeking a Teacher Assistant to support the lead teacher in delivering a high-quality early childhood education program at our Brooklyn, NY location. You will help implement weekly themes, supervise children, and provide stimulating activities in a safe, welcoming classroom.

In this role you will maintain essential certifications, communicate with children and parents, and ensure compliance with health regulations.

Qualifications

• 6 months or more of professional childcare experience.
• Ability to develop activities that are fun and educational for young children.
• Ability to instruct young children on rules of conduct and learning new tasks.
• Ability to effectively communicate with children and parents.
• Proficient active listening skills to understand and adapt to the various needs of children and parents.
• Patience and compassion are suitable for working with young children.
• Meet state-specific guidelines for the role.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the lead teacher in creating a welcoming, engaging classroom.
• Assisting the lead teacher in the planning of weekly themes, lesson plans and carrying out daily activities.
• Supervising activities of children and provide stimulating activities.
• Maintaining a safe, healthy environment for children at all times.
