Job summary

Babilou Family US is seeking an Assistant Teacher to create a safe, nurturing learning environment and support the Certified Teacher with meaningful daily lessons. The role emphasizes sustainability practices, teamwork, and respectful relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, experience with young children, and a passion for early learning. Training and development opportunities are provided to grow within Babilou Family’s academy

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.
• Knowledge of child development and classroom safety standard.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow lesson plans and support the Certified Teacher effectively.
• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education is preferred.
• Experience integrating sustainability, nature-based learning, or eco-conscious practices is a plus.
• Specialized training in early learning curriculum or child assessment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Certified Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and learning experiences.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and environmentally responsible classroom environment.
• Supervise children during classroom activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor experiences.
• Serve as a Mandated Reporter in accordance with state law and report any suspected child abuse or endangerment.
• Greet families and assist with sustainable communication practices and family engagement events.
• Attend required training sessions and collaborate with the team to enhance classroom systems and sustainability initiatives.
