Job summary

BrightPath Kids, Edison Park, IL, is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support teachers and families in creating a nurturing home-away-from-home for children, following NAEYC guidelines.

You will help supervise children, develop developmentally appropriate activities, and collaborate with families to ensure high-quality care and education, while maintaining a clean, safe classroom and effective parent communication.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
• 1 year of licensed child care experience preferred.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized.
• Must meet state criteria for child care employment.
• Ability to work within regular operating hours.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and supervision of children ages 6 weeks - 12 years in one classroom.
• Create developmentally appropriate curriculum per NAEYC standards.
• Curate programs and activities based on children’s interests and learning styles.
• Maintain a warm and safe environment that is clean and permits children to grow and explore.
• Partner with families to create plans to provide the best care and education for their children.
• Provide effective communication with parents/guardians about their child.
