Child Development Schools in Morehead City, North Carolina is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support a Lead Teacher in creating a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy.

You will help deliver age‑appropriate lessons, maintain a safe and organized space, and engage with children during daily activities, meals, and outdoor time. The role emphasizes strong communication with families and accurate daily documentation.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Genuine care for children and a commitment to their safety and well‑being.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with families.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.

Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements.
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time.
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher.
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication.
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports.
