The Goddard School located in Carmel/ Westfield seeks a motivated Assistant Teacher for our 3-year-old classroom. You will support the Lead Teacher in delivering engaging lesson plans, managing the classroom, and ensuring a safe, nurturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Empathy and compassion for young children.
• Works productively without supervision.
• Basic understanding of child development.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as part of daily duties.
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster belonging.
• Communicate with families about their child's progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations.
• Support daily care routines, including diapering, toileting, and potty training with nurturing guidance.

• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
