The Goddard School located in Fanwood, NJ is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support the Lead Teacher and help create a safe, engaging learning environment. Your energy and creativity will contribute to a nurturing classroom where children thrive.

You will implement lesson plans, monitor development, communicate with families, and uphold safety standards as part of a collaborative team. This role offers full-time and part-time shifts with opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; coursework in early childhood or education a plus
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children
• Works productively without supervision
• Basic understanding of child development
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment
