Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous experience with young children in licensed childcare or preschool setting.
• Empathy, compassion, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of child development and ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, clean, inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster belonging.
• Communicate with families about each child's progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health, safety guidelines and licensing regulations.
• Support daily care routines, including diapering, toileting and potty training, promoting independence and dignity.

Assistant Teacher Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment
• Support daily care routines, including diapering, toileting, and assisting with potty training, while promoting independence, dignity, and self-help skills in a nurturing learning environment
  

Qualifications:

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor's in Early Childhood Education preferred
• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting
• Shows empathy and compassion for young children
• Works productively without supervision
• Basic understanding of child development
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
