Job summary

Amego, Inc. is seeking energetic Assistant Teachers to ensure the safety and well-being of students with autism while implementing educational and behavioral programming. You will work 1:1 or 1:2 with students under the supervision of the head teacher and BCBA, with opportunities for growth and mentorship including tuition reimbursement.

This role emphasizes teamwork, compassionate care, and adherence to behavior plans to support students toward greater independence.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to implement behavioral support strategies.
• Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational opportunities for students with autism.
• Teach students as directed by the head teacher.
• Follow student behavior plans as directed by the BCBA.
• Report to residential group home sites multiple days per week.
• Assist students with toileting and showering as needed.
• Perform physical management strategies to keep students and others safe.
• Observe student rights and act as a mandated reporter.
• Participate in upkeep of school and residential homes; write incident reports.

Assistant teachers work directly with and teach students in a 1 on 1 and/or a 1 on 2 teacher to student ratio. The needs of our students demand a team-driven approach and a positive outlook.
