Job summary

Child Development Schools is seeking an Assistant Teacher to help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. You will work alongside the Lead Teacher to support young learners through meaningful experiences that encourage curiosity, confidence, kindness, and growth.

You will engage in hands-on activities, storytelling, and daily learning moments to shape a warm, safe, and welcoming environment where children feel supported to explore the world around them.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with families.
• Genuine care for children and a commitment to their safety and well‑being.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of working with young children.
• A degree or coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus but not required.

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Your role

As an Assistant Teacher at Child Development Schools, you will help create a classroom filled with discovery, creativity, learning, and joy. From hands‑on activities and storytelling to everyday learning moments, you will help shape a warm and welcoming environment where children feel safe, supported, and excited to explore the world around them.

What your day looks like:

• Support the Lead Teacher in delivering age‑appropriate lessons and activities for the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom that meets licensing and ratio requirements
• Engage directly with children during activities, meals, transitions, and outdoor time
• Observe children and share developmental notes with the Lead Teacher
• Build relationships with families through warm, consistent daily communication
• Assist with classroom documentation including attendance and daily reports

Pay and benefits

Pay: $12-$14 per hour, based on experience and education.

Requirements
