Job summary

About the Role:

Teach O Rea Preparatory in Stone Mountain, GA is looking for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our growing team! This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on young learners while working alongside experienced educators in a supportive and nurturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Support the lead teacher in delivering engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and classroom instruction

Supervise and assist students during classroom activities, transitions, and outdoor play

Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment

Provide individualized attention and support to students as needed

Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and staff regarding student progress

Assist with preparing classroom materials, supplies, and educational resources

Observe and document student behavior and development for reporting purposes

Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required; coursework in Early Childhood Education or Child Development preferred

Prior experience working with children in a classroom, childcare, or educational setting

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine love for working with children

Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team

Must be able to pass a background check

CPR and First Aid certification is a plus
