A leading organization is looking for an Assistant Teacher to support educational direction for children aged 2 months to 6 years. This role includes hands-on experience, planning programs to meet developmental needs, and maintaining positive relationships with families. The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma and relevant experience, contributing to a nurturing learning environment.
Reports To: Coordinator of Child Care & Recreation
Functions:
The Assistant Teacher, under the supervision of the Coordinator of Childcare, will counsel, aid and teach children in need of educational direction. The Assistant Child Care Teacher is responsible for assisting the child care teacher in the classroom. The assistant teacher will have direct hands-on experience in working with children, ages 2 months to 6 years.

Qualifications:
The incumbent must have at least a High School Diploma and 2 years experience or have an Associate Child Development Credential approved by the National Association for the Education of Young Children and one (1) year of classroom teaching experience, Food Safety Certification. Preference is given to applicants with teaching experience, preferably in a social service setting.
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary range and benefits information for this position are being included in accordance with requirements of New York State and City pay transparency laws. Please note that salaries may vary for different individuals in the same role based on several factors, including but not limited to location of the role, individuals’ competencies, education/professional certifications, qualifications/experience and performance in the role.
Compensation
The base salary compensation range being offered for this role is $36,750 per year.
