Looking for a job with lots of variety at an organization that values FUN? Wonderspring is seeking an Assistant Teacher to join the team at our STAR 4 early childhood education center in Narberth. In this position, you will have lots of opportunities to gain new skills and develop as a teacher. The ideal candidate enjoys working with young children and is dedicated to creating a nurturing learning atmosphere for every child. Wonderspring Narberth has well established infant, toddler and preschool programs with an excellent reputation and is located right outside of West Philadelphia.

Tasks
  • Assist in planning and facilitating a developmentally appropriate curriculum for children including those with special needs.
  • In conjunction with lead teacher, complete children’s daily communication forms, semi-annual assessments, anecdotal records and positive communications with parents including parent/teacher conferences.
  • Maintain physical environment to ensure sanitation and safety of the children and staff in compliance with DHS licensing regulations,NAEYC and Keystone Star accreditations. Provide support as requested in the plan for licensing and monitors’ visits
  • Develop and maintain Professional Development Record (PDR) through in-service and outside training
  • Assume lead teacher classroom responsibilities in the event of his/her absence
  • All other duties as required to ensure the successful operation of the center
  • Record time worked by clocking-in and -out at your designated timeclock
Requirements
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with children, required
  • CDA, AA or higher in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Excellent, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills reflecting strong customer service and the ability to interact effectively with children, staff and guardians
