Job summary

The Learning Experience - Cascade is seeking a caring Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team in Cascade, MI. You will work with Lead Teachers to support daily routines, activities, and a safe, engaging classroom environment.

We offer a consistent full-time schedule, training, and opportunities for advancement. A dependable, warm approach and teamwork are essential to helping children learn through play and positive relationships in our childcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDA or Early Childhood Education coursework is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom routines and activities.
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, and hands-on learning.
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and transitions.
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance.
• Help prepare classroom activities and learning materials; maintain a clean, safe, organized environment.
• Build positive relationships with children and families.
• Collaborate with teachers and center leadership.
• Provide classroom and ratio coverage as needed.
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements.

Assistant Teacher - Daycare & Preschool

Location: The Learning Experience - Cascade, MI

Pay: $17-$19 per hour, based on experience and credentials

Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday | 9:00 AM-6:00 PM or 9:30 AM-6:30 PM

The Learning Experience - Cascade is seeking a caring and dependable Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young children and wants a consistent full-time schedule in a supportive childcare environment. You'll work alongside experienced Lead Teachers to create safe, engaging classrooms where children learn through play, exploration, and positive relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Support Lead Teachers with daily classroom routines and learning activities
• Engage children through play, art, music, movement, sensory activities, and hands-on learning
• Assist with meals, diapering/toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and classroom transitions
• Provide attentive supervision and positive guidance
• Help prepare classroom activities and learning materialsMaintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom environment
• Build positive relationships with children and families
• Collaborate with teachers and center leadership
• Provide classroom and ratio coverage as needed
• Follow Michigan childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements
