Job summary

The Goddard School of Derry, NH is seeking an Associate Teacher who will support the Lead Teacher in creating engaging activities, managing the classroom, and maintaining a safe, inviting learning environment for young children.

You’ll bring energy, patience and creativity to a supportive, collaborative team, helping children grow socially, emotionally and cognitively while following state licensing requirements. Training and career growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with young children in licensed childcare or preschool.
• Empathy and compassion for young children.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and maintain safety standards.
• Must pass state background checks and meet licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through engaging activities.
• Prepare classroom materials and maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster belonging.
• Communicate with families about daily activities and progress.

Assistant Teacher Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans


• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions


• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment


• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging


• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities


• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment


• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare or preschool setting


• Shows empathy and compassion for young children


• Works productively without supervision


• Basic understanding of child development


• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children


• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements
