Job summary

The Goddard School is seeking a motivated Assistant Teacher for our two-year-old age group at our Cumming, GA location. You will assist the Lead Teacher in creating engaging, safe, and stimulating activities that support early development and joyful learning.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Empathy and compassion for young children.
• Works productively without supervision.
• Basic understanding of child development.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must pass required state background checks and meet state minimum education, experience and credential requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Support children’s social, emotional, cognitive and physical development through active engagement and positive interactions.
• Prepare classroom materials and ensure a safe, clean and inviting learning environment.
• Supervise and provide individualized support to children and foster a sense of belonging.
• Assist in communicating with families about their child’s progress and daily activities.
• Adhere to health and safety guidelines and licensing regulations to ensure a secure environment.
• Support daily care routines and tasks to promote a nurturing learning environment.
