Southwest is seeking a Preschool Assistant to support a Head Start program in Bolivar, Tennessee. The role involves assisting the Head Start Teacher with instruction for a classroom of up to 20 children and stepping in as the teacher when needed.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, with preference for a Child Development Associate Credential and a degree in Early Childhood Education or related field. Candidates should be willing to continue education and pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Child Development Associate Credential preferred.
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred; experience/training in working with preschool children desired.
• Must be willing to continue education.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Must pass physical exam, drug screen, and criminal/fingerprint background check.

Responsabilités

• Assist Head Start Teacher in carrying out a program of instruction for a pre-school classroom of up to 20 children.
• Serve as teacher in absence of regular Teacher.
• Make home visits.
• Encourage parent involvement.
• Work with other staff concerning enrollment and meeting the needs of families.
