Job summary

Foothills Area YMCA in Seneca, SC seeks an Assistant Swim Coach to lead and support the swim team program in a safe, engaging way. You will respond to member needs, provide customer service, and help create positive aquatic experiences.

Under the supervision of the Head Swim Coach you’ll plan workouts for 11 & Under groups, greet participants, balance fun with challenge, and communicate progress with parents.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 15 years old and have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Current lifeguard certification.
• Current CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and Oxygen certifications.
• Proficient in swimming and safety skills.
• Able to teach and communicate aquatics skills to participants.

Responsibilities

• Assist in coaching 11 & Under in swim practice.
• Greet and welcome participants each day.
• Assist with multiple practice groups when needed.
• Write workouts for 11 & Under age groups.
• Provide timely feedback to participants or parents about progress.
