Wood Rodgers is hiring an Assistant Surveyor in Pleasanton, CA. The role focuses on construction staking, QA/QC of civil plans, as-built surveys, and field data processing. You will support topographic mapping, ALTA/Records of Survey, and legal descriptions for public and private projects.

The position is full-time, hourly, non-exempt, with a collaborative team environment and opportunities to work with advanced surveying technology and field crews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or pursuing degree.
• Minimum 2+ years of land surveying office experience.
• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Proficient in reading civil improvement plan sets.
• LSIT or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Survey field experience is preferred.
• Experience with Trimble Business Center is preferred.
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Pre-calc and prepare survey data for construction staking using AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
• Civil improvement plans review and QA/QC.
• QA/QC of as-staked construction layout field data.
• Receive and respond to field survey requests from contractors and clients.
• Coordinate survey field crew schedule with the survey manager and staff.
• Assist with the coordination of daily scheduling of survey field crews.
• Upload and download field data and organize incoming data for office calculations and drafting.
• Assist in preparation of construction staking cost estimates, proposals and change orders.
• Produce survey deliverables including ALTA/ACSML Land Title Surveys, Records of Survey, Parcel Maps, Final Maps and legals.
