Job summary

Fremont Economic Development Corporation seeks an experienced supervisor to assist with the upkeep of county roads, bridges, and drainage systems. You will assign crews, monitor road conditions, prioritize repairs, and collaborate with Fleet to manage fuel, tires and parts.

You will work with the Area Supervisor, Director and County Engineer to implement standards, safety training and DOT procedures, while interpreting engineering requirements for maintenance and construction projects.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED plus two years of advanced engineering technology or infrastructure construction training and four (4) years related experience and/or training; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid Colorado Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a Tanker endorsement required.
  • Ability to apply mathematical reasoning to prepare budgets and bid specification, calculate amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the supervision and maintenance of the county wide roads, bridges, and drainage systems.

  • Respond to call-out/on-call situations as they arise and during inclement weather.
  • Collaborates with the Fleet Supervisor to purchase and maintain an inventory of fuel, tires, parts, tools, culverts and other equipment needed to maintain roads and equipment.
  • Collaborates with the Area Supervisor, Director and other Supervisors to develop and implement standards, communicate County policies and procedures, develop and initiate safety training, monitor testing and certification requirements and develop and implement Countywide DOT operating procedures.
  • Works with the Area Supervisor, Director and the County Engineer to interpret and implement engineering requirements into the maintenance and construction of roadways, bridges, easements, rights-of-way and drainage systems.

with extreme proficiency.
