Job Title

Assistant Supervisor, Electrical

Position Information

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Summary

The incumbent assists maintaining the electrical systems and equipment in good repair and working order.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Thorough knowledge of codes pertaining to installation and maintenance of electrical systems
  • Knowledge of state electrical and safety codes
  • Knowledge of the applications and use of testing equipment utilized in checking, testing and analyzing electrical systems
  • Knowledge of the use of power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, knock punches and other tools associated with the electrical industry
  • Good communication skills, verbal, written and interpersonal
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to use industry-standard electrical tools
Essential Job Functions
  • Installs new and additional electrical work, remodeling, etc.
  • Maintains and repairs motors, relays, magnetic starters, transformers, etc.
  • Runs electrical conduit for installation of new equipment and wiring.
  • Installs and interconnects transformers.
  • Repairs, maintains, alters and/or erects wiring apparatuses
  • Replaces faulty circuit breakers, fuses, switches, electrical and electronic components, or wire.
  • Secures brackets to bulkheads with screws and bolts and pull wires through conduits leading to connection boxes, switch panels, and other terminals.
  • Provides guidance or supervision to other craft workers as assigned.
  • Performs supervisory duties in the absence of the Electrical Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • High school, technical or trade school graduate or equivalent
  • Five (5) years’ experience in electrical trade (maintenance or construction)
