• High school diploma or GED required.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• 1 year minimum experience in Corrections, Security, Military Police, Police, Inmate/Detention Transportation, or related field.
• Superior interpersonal abilities and flexibility.
• Preferred: Class B CDL with air brake and passenger endorsements.
• Preferred: Supervisor or Management experience in Corrections or Transportation.

Responsibilities

• Direct, supervise and monitor Transportation Officers in all aspects of transportation operations including administration, regulatory compliance, officer management, safety and security, customer service, trip efficiency, reporting, risk management, asset management, and policy adherence.
• Communicate and support the vision and goals of TransCor America, LLC.
• Guide staff in safe and orderly Field Office operation to promote public safety and a secure environment for inmates/detainees.
• Schedule and plan required trip activity as directed by Transportation Supervisor.
• Follow policies, procedures and emergency plans to ensure Field Office operation complies with laws, policy, and contracts.
• Communicate responsibilities, authority and accountability; motivate staff to perform per policy.
• Plan and conduct maintenance on equipment including restraints, weapons, vehicles as directed.
• Attend staff meetings to maintain effective communication and operational consistency.
• Provide a positive work environment through mentoring, coaching and feedback.
• Read, analyze and interpret documents and forms; stay compliant with regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Description

Assistant Transportation Supervisor is responsible for assisting the Transportation Supervisor in the administration, coordination, and management of the Field Office and staff in accordance with state and federal laws, TransCor policies and procedures, Customer contracts/requirements and all other government agencies that may be applicable.

SUMMARY

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Direct, supervise and monitor the Transportation Officers in their performance regarding all aspects of transportation operations to include but not limited to: administration, regulatory compliance, officer management, safety and security, customer service, trip efficiency, reporting requirements, risk management, asset management, and adherence to policy and procedures.
• Communicates and supports the vision of TransCor America, LLC and ensures alignment with TCA goals
• Guides and directs staff in the safe and orderly operation of the Field Office in a manner that promotes public safety, staff safety and a secure and humane environment for inmates, detainees and/or residents.
• Conduct and assists in the scheduling and planning of required trip activity as directed the by the Transportation Supervisor.
• Follows operational policies, procedures and emergency plans to ensure the proper operation of the Field Office is consistent with federal/state law(s), TCA policy, and contractual obligation(s).
• Effectively communicates responsibilities, authority and accountability to all direct subordinates. Motivates and encourages staff to perform their duties consistent with policy and procedures.
• Plans, schedules and conducts maintenance on equipment to include restraints, weapons, vehicles and as directed by the Transportation Supervisor.
• Attends staff meetings as directed to maintain effective communication and consistency of operational effectiveness and efficiency. Promotes effective communications and the proper flow of relevant information to management, staff, CCA officials, contracting agency representatives (when required) and general public, using tact, diplomacy, understanding, fairness, firmness and good judgment.
• Provides as positive work environment through mentoring, coaching, communication, and feedback. Keeps the Transportation Supervisor informed with on operational issues to include staff issues.
• Read, analyze and interpret documents, handwritten text, correspondence, policies, technical procedures, governmental regulations, reports, directions for forms completion and other simple or moderately complex documents.
• Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed and/or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent is required.
• A valid driver's license is required.
• Minimum Age Requirement: Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Be proficient with Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams)
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• 1 year minimum of Corrections, Security, Military Police, Police, Inmate/Detainee Transportation, or related experience
• Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to get along with diverse personalities, interact tactfully, display maturity, and practice flexibility.
• Preferred: Possessvalid Class B commercial drivers' license with air brake and passenger endorsements.
• Preferred: Supervisor or Management experience in a related industry such as Corrections or Transportation.
