ARCO Design/Build in King of Prussia, PA is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for new graduates. You will join a team that manages the lifecycle of a project from early planning through field execution, working alongside seasoned professionals who are invested in your growth.

This entry-level role emphasizes safety, hands-on leadership, and clear communication as you help coordinate schedules, crews, and subcontractors across phases, with opportunities to advance within a top design/build firm.

Qualifications

• Recent or upcoming completion of an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering.
• GPA 3.0+ preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency with MS Office tools and basic software for scheduling and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction Planning – attend post-award meetings and assist with planning.
• Project Scheduling – work with Project Manager to develop schedules and staffing plans.
• Field Leadership – oversee daily field activities to ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence.
• Subcontractor Coordination – manage activities and ensure cross-trade coordination.

A Day in the Life:

As an Assistant Superintendent , every day brings a new lesson. You\’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of a project while working alongside experienced professionals who are invested in your growth.

Here\’s what you can expect:

• Preconstruction Planning – Attend post-award meetings to review project details and assist with construction planning before work begins.


• Project Scheduling – Work with the Project Manager to develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs.


• Field Leadership – Oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.


• Subcontractor Coordination – Manage subcontractor activities, communicate schedule updates, and ensure work is properly coordinated across trades.

Necessary Qualifications:

• Recent or upcoming completion of an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program (other related engineering majors will be considered)


• A strong interest in the construction process, specifically design/build, tilt-up concrete, industrial builds, etc.


• Previous experience in construction preferred, but not required


• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required


• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project


• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic


• Valid Drivers License
