Job summary

ARCO Design/Build is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to help lead field activities, coordinate subcontractors, and support project scheduling from the field. You’ll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of projects while working with experienced professionals committed to your growth.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration, and delivering high-quality design/build projects across industrial and commercial facilities. A degree in a related field and driving license are preferred.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
• Recent or upcoming completion of an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program (other related engineering majors will be considered)
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required
• Valid Drivers License

Responsibilities

• Preconstruction Planning – Attend post-award meetings to review project details and assist with construction planning before work begins.
• Project Scheduling – Work with the Project Manager to develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs.
• Field Leadership – Oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.
• Subcontractor Coordination – Manage subcontractor activities, communicate schedule updates, and ensure work is properly coordinated across trades.

Necessary Qualifications

• A strong interest in the construction process, specifically design/build, tilt-up concrete, industrial builds, etc.
• Previous experience in construction preferred, but not required
• GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project
• Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic
• Valid Drivers License
