Live Oak Contracting, LLC is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent on multifamily construction projects in Oxford, MS. You will supervise on-site activities, coordinate subcontractors, review plans for accuracy, and help ensure safety, schedule, and budget adherence.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years in multifamily or similar commercial construction (Project Engineer or equivalent role preferred).
• Skills: Leadership, organizational abilities, building codes knowledge, scheduling software, communication, multitasking.
• Other requirements: Valid driver's license and willingness to travel; able to work on active construction sites; occasional nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in planning, scheduling, and supervising all on-site construction activities.
• Support review of drawings, specifications, and project plans for accuracy and compliance.
• Help coordinate subcontractors and ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
• Promote and enforce safety policies and participate in weekly site safety meetings.
• Monitor construction progress, identify potential risks, and assist in implementing corrective actions.
• Maintain jobsite cleanliness and organization to ensure a professional and safe environment.
• Build strong working relationships with project managers, trade partners, engineers, and inspectors.
• Participate in project closeout including punch list completion and final documentation.
• Represent Live Oak's mission and values through professionalism, communication, and teamwork.

Position Overview

We're seeking a detail-oriented Assistant Superintendent to join our growing operations team. In this role, you'll support the Superintendent in managing daily on-site construction activities-ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to Live Oak's high standards of quality. You'll coordinate subcontractors, monitor progress, and help maintain compliance with all project requirements.
