Structure Tone Southwest is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to work under the Site Superintendent and Project Manager to develop, manage, and complete a job plan for assigned projects located in Dallas. The role emphasizes scheduling, field coordination, quality control, and daily supervision of subcontracted crews.

  • 2–5 years of field experience in commercial projects preferred.
  • Experience with supervisory roles such as General Foreman, Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the project schedule and maintain status reports.
  • Oversee on-site coordination, quality control, and day-to-day supervision of subcontracted work forces.
  • Review progress with Project Manager and client representatives; coordinate on large multi-superintendent projects.
  • Enforce safety standards and ensure tools and equipment are used safely by crews.
  • Direct subcontractors during interior commercial fit-outs and coordinate resource needs.
  • Analyze manpower, materials, and equipment and interface needs with the supervising superintendent.
  • Implement field policies, procedures, and work rules established by field construction management.
  • Prepare reports/forecasts and keep supervisors informed on progress of activities.
  • Ensure safety compliance in operation areas and that conditions meet safety standards.
  • Apply engineering, construction methods, and people-management knowledge for project success.

Summary:

Under the guidance of the Site Superintendent and in partnership with the Project Manager, the Assistant Superintendent at Structure Tone Southwest develops, manages, and completes a job plan for an assigned job.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepares the project schedule, maintains reports accurately describing project status
  • Responsible for the timely and cost-effectivefield coordination, quality control and day-to-day supervision of subcontracted work forces for construction projects
  • Reviews status and project progress with the Project Manager and client representatives on a regular basis. Large projects include multiple Superintendents.
  • Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when operating tools and equipment.
  • Directs sub-contractors activities within commercial fit-outs for interior projects
  • Analyzes manpower, material, equipment requirements, and interfaces the requirements with others as designated by supervising superintendent.
  • Implements and enforces policies, procedures and related work rules as established by field construction Management
  • Prepares reports and forecasts, as required, and keeps supervisors informed on progress of overall assigned activities
  • Ensures safety standards and requirements are implemented and adhered to by craftsmen and others when in the operational area, tools and equipment are in safe condition and operated safely.
  • Combining knowledge of engineering methods, construction methods and human management skills to ensure project success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferably in commercial construction.
  • Prefer 2-5 years of field experience in commercial projects.
  • Experience should include some supervisory responsibility as a General Foreman, Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
