Job summary

Headwaters Golf Club in Cashiers, NC is seeking an Assistant Golf Course Superintendent to join our team. This year-round, full-time position involves hands-on management of maintenance, agronomic planning, and facility presentation on our 9-hole short course.

You will work closely with the Superintendent, lead seasonal staff, manage moisture, fertilization, and project work, with mentorship from a highly experienced team. Housing assistance may be available.

Qualifications

Degree in Turfgrass Science, Plant Science, Horticulture, or a closely related field.
Ability to meet physical demands and work outdoors in varying conditions.
Valid driver’s license.
Willingness to obtain North Carolina pesticide applicator license within six months.

Responsibilities

Assist in day-to-day scheduling, supervision, and operation of maintenance crew.
Conduct fertilizer and pesticide applications across the property.
Perform moisture management of putting surfaces and practice areas.
Assist with in-house construction, renovation, and improvement projects.
Help manage and train seasonal staff.
Maintain pesticide application records per NC state law.
Participate in maintenance of garden and landscape areas.
Other duties as assigned.
