Job summary

BallenIsles Country Club is seeking a full-time Assistant Superintendent to oversee golf course maintenance, assist with budget planning, and lead the maintenance staff. The role involves supervising turf care, planting, fertilizer and chemical handling, and ensuring equipment is well maintained.

Qualified candidates will have a related degree with experience in a private country club environment, valid Florida driver’s license, and the ability to perform physical tasks.

Qualifications

• Requires degree in agronomy, horticulture, plant/soil science and two years related experience or an equivalent combination.
• Experience supervising golf course maintenance and leading staff in a private country club environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in overseeing daily golf course maintenance and budget adherence.
• Supervise maintenance staff and coordinate putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkers construction and upkeep.
• Oversee planting and cultural practices for turf grasses, trees and ornamentals.
• Ensure proper handling and application of chemicals and fertilizers and maintenance of equipment.
• Assist in procurement, cost control and record keeping for maintenance activities and invoices.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
• Develop ongoing training programs and provide orientation for new associates.
