Job summary

MKH Search is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for Northern Virginia to support field operations on large multifamily projects. This on-site role partners with the Superintendent to maintain schedule, safety, and quality on site.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in construction as an Assistant Superintendent, understands the full construction process, and can manage multiple subcontractors while maintaining strong communication with the project team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in construction in an Assistant Superintendent capacity.
• Strong understanding of the construction process from foundation through closeout.
• Comfortable managing multiple trades and subcontractors on an active job site.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Preference for Podium Multi Family experience.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day field supervision on multifamily projects ranging from $30M to $200M.
• Coordinate and monitor subcontractor work to ensure quality, safety, and schedule compliance.
• Assist with site logistics, scheduling, and material coordination.
• Maintain daily field reports, punch lists, and project documentation.
• Enforce site safety standards and support a strong safety culture.
• Work closely with the Superintendent and project management team to troubleshoot field issues as they arise.

About the Role

The Assistant Superintendent will support field operations on multifamily projects ranging from $30M to $200M, working alongside the Superintendent to keep the job site running safely, on schedule, and to spec. This is a strong opportunity for a field professional with a solid multifamily foundation looking to grow into greater project responsibility with a stable, well-established developer.
