Job summary

BNBuilders in San Francisco, CA is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to coordinate all site construction activities and supervise field personnel to complete projects safely, on schedule, and within budget in accordance with plans and specifications.

You will report to the project Superintendent or Sr. Superintendent, supervise multi-trade activities, and contribute to ongoing safety, quality, and client satisfaction while aligning with BNBuilders’ values and ESOP ownership culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor-level or higher is preferred but not required; degree in construction management or related field is a plus.
  • Experience coordinating scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production across multiple project phases.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage diverse personalities.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and supervise all construction activities.
  • Direct all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
  • Create and maintain construction schedule; identify and solve problems.
  • Order materials and schedule inspections as necessary throughout the process.
  • Has knowledge and experience with other trades scope of work.
  • Can manage self-performed duties with BNB labor.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employers.
  • Prepare schedules and supervise completion of a final punch list.
  • Promote job site safety, encourage safe work practices, and rectify job site hazards immediately.
  • Ensure all company employees and contractors are adhering to the company safety policy.
  • Create site logistic plans and maintains an organized, clean job site, including the construction office.

Job Summary

The Assistant Superintendent coordinates all site construction activities and supervises all field personnel as assigned to successfully and safely complete projects on schedule and within budget ensuring adherence to plans, specifications, and industrial standards. Must exercise general supervision of a job site to monitor and manage project(s) during each phase of construction; including but not limited to pre-construction, construction, closeout, and post-construction. Assistant Superintendent reports to the project Superintendent if working under a Superintendent on specific project or Sr. Superintendent if the Assistant Superintendent is overseeing a project.

SALARY RANGE:

$100,000 - $140,000

Qualifications
  • 4-year college degree preferred, but not required. Desirable study concentration in construction management.
  • One year of relevant experience in scheduling, ordering, field supervision, quality control, and production of all phases of construction. Should be experienced in managing multiple projects.
  • Organized with a systematic approach to achieve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills, including the ability to manage diverse personalities.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Capable of traversing over construction-type terrain when under development; moving through the construction site and the materials in place for use on the site; climbing ladders and temporary stairways; conducting visual inspections of quality of construction and materials being used in construction.
