Job summary

CBG Building Company is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to manage day-to-day field operations on multifamily construction projects. You will oversee subcontractors to deliver on time and within budget, while maintaining a safe, clean site and coordinating with the Project Superintendent on schedules and sequencing.

The role requires 2–3 years in construction management, familiarity with ProCore/BlueBeam, and strong communication. Travel to sites and some weekend work may be needed.

Qualifications

• Two to three years of construction management experience in a field role.
• Undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related discipline is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, safety, and regulations.
• Able to communicate clearly with a team including tradespeople, inspectors, clients, etc.
• Experience with ProCore or BlueBeam and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• OSHA 30 is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to work weekends and travel locally to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a job schedule showing the critical path and turnover sequence.
• Coordinate activities of multiple subcontractors, conduct weekly meetings, supervise work, and manage punch lists.
• Assist with jobsite utilization plans for facilities, material movement, and site access.
• Assist with preconstruction surveys by documenting existing conditions.
• Ensure safety standards (OSHA/HAZCOM) are observed on site.

Job description

An Assistant Superintendent has the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to manage the day-to-day field operations of multifamily construction projects. As Assistant Superintendent, you will oversee the subcontractors’ work to ensure a complete project in a timely and cost-effective manner. You will work to maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.

Experience and Qualifications

• Two (2) to three (3) years of construction management experience in a field role.
• An undergraduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related discipline is preferred but not required.
• Working knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, manpower, etc. as well as safety and government regulations.
• Able to work and communicate clearly and effectively with a team including tradespeople, inspectors, clients, etc.
• Ability to effectively work in sector-specific software such as ProCore or BlueBeam, as well as some experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• OSHA 30 is preferred but not required.
• Must be able to work weekends as needed.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift 40 pounds.
• Must be able to safely navigate a construction project site including walking on uneven surfaces, climbing stairs and ladders, and working at heights.
• This position regularly works on-site at a construction job site where the employee is exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to loud.
