Job summary

Archstone Builders in New York City seeks an Assistant Construction Superintendent to support the Construction Superintendent in overseeing daily on-site operations for NYC projects. You will coordinate trade partners, enforce safety and quality standards, maintain schedules, and ensure compliance with NYC DOB regulations and project specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 0–2 years of construction or internship experience in commercial, residential, or mixed-use projects.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing, means and methods.

• Clear communication and leadership abilities in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Collaborative, proactive, and detail-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with project managers, construction superintendents, inspectors, and design professionals.
• Assist Lead Construction Superintendent in managing day-to-day field operations on active construction sites.
• Assist in maintaining daily logs, site reports, photos, and progress documentation.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, and document control.
• Support coordination with building management, neighboring properties, and city agencies.
• Coordinate and supervise trade partners and vendors.
• Monitor work progress to ensure adherence to project schedules and milestones.
• Assist with site logistics, material deliveries, and workforce coordination.
• Enforce site safety protocols in accordance with OSHA, NYC DOB, and Archstone Builders’ policies.
• Monitor workmanship to ensure compliance with design documents and NYC building codes.
• Assist with inspections, punch lists, and quality documentation.

Position Summary

As an Assistant Construction Superintendent with Archstone Builders, you will be supporting the Construction Superintendent in overseeing daily on-site operations for construction projects in New York City. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working on NYC construction sites with knowledge of DOB regulations
• Proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software
• 40-Hour Site Safety Training (SST) Card or 62-Hour SST Supervisor Card

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Full-time, on-site position in active NYC renovation or new construction project
• Ability to walk the site, climb, lift, and stand for extended periods
• May require early mornings or extended hours work based on project needs
