Job summary

Cranshaw Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent with multi-family residential experience to join our team in a city/urban environment. You will support site activities, assist safety programs, and help manage schedules, documentation, and subcontractor performance.

The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, reliable, and organized, with a drive to advance skills in safety, scheduling, field operations, and cost control on projects valued over $20M.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, facilities management, engineering or related field preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience on commercial construction projects exceeding $20M in multi-family, urban environments
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (Procore or similar), Bluebeam, scheduling software (MS Project or similar); modeling software a plus
  • Superior communications (written and verbal), interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead superintendent and project team in administering the company and project safety program
  • Identify, address, and correct safety hazards on site
  • Support the execution and oversight of NFPA-241 plans, Emergency Action Plans, Construction Management Plans, and other site-specific safety and logistics plans
  • Develop skills to create, execute, and maintain the project schedule, including three-week look-ahead schedules
  • Learn to navigate and assess field conditions
  • Assist in managing subcontractor performance, quality, productivity, and safety compliance
  • Take direction and complete assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Supervise third-party labor as needed
  • Assist in managing project documentation and reporting
  • Build understanding of project documents and subcontractor requirements
  • Take an active role in managing and closing out the project punchlist

Cranshaw is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join our team with experience in the multi-family residential sector, preferably in city/urban environments . In this role you will proudly represent Cranshaw and be responsible for assigned job site activities. The ideal candidate will be team-oriented, self-motivated, reliable, organized, and loyal with the willingness to do what it takes for the successful outcome of the project that he or she is involved in. They also need to be invested in developing their skills in the comprehension of jobsite safety, project scheduling and planning, field operations and quality and cost control for their own professional advancement.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist the lead superintendent and project team in administering the company and project safety program

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, facilities management, engineering or related field preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience on commercial construction projects exceeding $20M, within the multi-family residential sector and preferably in city/urban environments.
  • Entry level computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, project management software (Procore or similar), Bluebeam, scheduling software (MS Project or similar), modeling software a plus
  • Superior communications (written and verbal), and inter-personal skills
  • Highly organized and with a strong attention to detail, ability to plan and manage time well.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to physically maneuver on a construction site
  • Use of PPE as required

The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $115,000. Compensation is part of a comprehensive total rewards package, including bonus and final offers will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience.
