PGA National is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join the Agronomy Department at our Palm Beach Gardens campus. This role offers exposure to a multi-course operation and opportunities to prepare courses for PGA TOUR events.

Ideal candidates have 5 years of golf course experience or a turf management degree, plus proficiency in Word and Excel. Florida driver’s license and pesticide license within 90 days are required. Weekend and holiday work may be needed.

About the Role:

PGA National is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to join the Agronomy Department. This is an opportunity to be part of a multi-course operation and gain experience preparing a golf course for a PGA TOUR event. This position will provide you with a career path for growth and the opportunity to become a successful Golf Course Superintendent. PGA National has five championship golf courses operating out of 3 maintenance facilities.

Currently we are in the final stages of a complete renovation by Davis Love III on our Triple Stick Course. We completed an 18-hole Bunker Solution renovation on the Palmer Course this summer. Scheduled to start renovation on the Match Course early spring of 2027 including lengthening thegolfcourse, drainage and irrigation upgrades, greens and bunkers construction. The Champion Course is scheduled for complete renovation including greens, tees, bunkers, drainage, irrigation and complete regrassing.

Ideal candidates have flexible schedules with the ability to work weekends and holidays, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Work with Superintendent managing dailyoperations
• Oversee training for safe operation and cleanliness of equipment
• Works closely with Superintendent in managing annual budget andrecordkeeping
• Provide feedback in preparing short-term and long-term agronomic strategies

Education and Experience Requirements

• 5 years of golf course experience or formal college degree in turf management
• Possess basic computer skills – Word and Excel
• Have a strong business aptitude and passion for the golf business
• Organized and efficient with a high attention to detail
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Required Florida Driver’s License
• Obtain Florida Commercial Pesticide License within 90 days

Physical Demands

• Physical activity including long periods (6-8 hours) of standing, walking, bending, and scooping
• Regularly to reach with arms and hands
• Occasionally it will be required to lift up to 50lbs.
• Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision, and depth perception
• Moderate exposure to extreme cold, heat, working outdoors, chemicals, pesticides, gasoline, vibration, pollen, dust, mechanical hazards and electrical hazards
• Noise level is typically moderate to loud noise
• Work extended hours during golf and holiday season
