Job summary

Epoch Construction is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to join our Texas-based commercial construction team servicing Houston and Austin. You will assist in planning, organizing, and overseeing daily activities to ensure safe, on-time, and on-budget project delivery.

You will coordinate subs, suppliers, and labor, read blueprints, track progress, and communicate with project managers and clients.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a construction supervisory role.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, tools, and safety standards.
• Proficient with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between job sites in Houston and Austin.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent in planning, organizing, and overseeing daily construction activities to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and labor resources to maintain efficient workflow and project progression.
• Monitor site operations to enforce quality standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
• Communicate regularly with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide updates and address changes promptly.
• Participate in site inspections, meetings, and project reviews to support decision-making and problem-solving.
• Maintain accurate records of construction progress, labor hours, equipment usage, and material deliveries.
• Support scheduling, resolve conflicts, and mitigate risks associated with construction activities.
• Assist in training and supervision of field personnel to ensure adherence to policies and best practices.

• Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Proficient with construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel between job sites within Houston and Austin regions.
