Job summary

Cooper Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent and Senior Superintendent in daily field management on industrial construction sites in Austin, TX. You will coordinate activities, monitor progress, review drawings, and maintain quality and safety across trades while communicating with project teams and clients.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of industrial construction experience, strong organizational and leadership abilities, and proficiency in reading

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage daily field activities and timelines.
• Monitor project progress; ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality.
• Update project schedule with Superintendents.
• Review drawings for accuracy of work installed.
• Verify subcontractors' Exhibit B's and work performed.
• Perform quality control with all trades.
• Coordinate with Project Manager and other participants.
• Collaborate with supervising field staff to improve methods.
• Record personnel, production, and project logs.
• Engage clients to interpret needs and maintain relations.
• Coordinate recovery plans with subcontractors; discuss progress.

Job description

Cooper Construction is currently seeking a dedicated Assistant Superintendent to assist the Superintendent or Senior Superintendent with daily management of job sites. Applicants should have excellent organizational, time management, leadership, and decision-making skills.

• Coordinate and manage daily field operational activities and timelines, and manage safety by actively walking the site, participating in inspections, training, and meeting with staff and subcontractors regularly.
• Monitor the overall progress of a project and work site, review processes and practices within
• teams to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality of work delivery.
• Participate in monitoring and updating project schedule with Superintendents.
• Reviewing drawings for accuracy of work installed
• Reviewing Exhibit B’s and work performed by subs is accurate.
• Performing quality control with all trades and work performed.
• Cooperating and communicating with the Project Manager and other project participants and
• Collaborating with supervising field roles to create more efficient project methods.
• Physical demands: walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time. Frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movements in performance with daily activities. Lift, carry, push, and pull amounts of weight up to 50 lbs. without assistance. Operate assigned equipment and vehicles, and verbally communicate and exchange information.
• Record and maintain information such as personnel, production, project logs, and other operational data.
• Interact with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and working with the office to
• keep client relations on a high note.
• Coordinate with subcontractors’ office for recovery plans where necessary, meet regularly with
• staff and subcontractors to discuss progress, obstacles, challenges, and assist in removing barriers to complete work in a timely fashion.
