About the role

Assistant Subcontract Manager is responsible for initiating and maintaining all subcontracts with subcontractors providing services to Military Housing properties, including but not limited to drafting solicitations, solicitation processing, proposal review, subcontractor selection, compliance and execution. The assistant will liaise with site management on their service requirements at the properties and ensure the contract process follows Policy Center policies. This is a remote position.

You may be eligible for a $500 net sign‑on bonus to be paid in your first paycheck.

What you'll be doing

• Identify existing subcontractors for the portfolio
• Develop a subcontractor services library
• Negotiate terms and prices with subcontractors
• Communicate with operational teams to finalize budget requirements
• Manage the compliance of the subcontractor insurance program
• Manage the subcontract execution process for all services
• Manage subcontracts through the full life cycle
• Make recommendations for continuous improvement of subcontract management procedures, policies, and processes

Who we're looking for

• Associate degree required
• 5 years of business experience in contract management and/or financial controls
• Ability to learn and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures
• High working knowledge of subcontracting and/or procurement practices, including price analysis, due diligence and sub‑contract expertise
• Planning/organizing – ability to organize work, set priorities, and make productive use of time
• Adaptability – ability to accept changes in the work environment, manage competing demands, and deal with frequent changes or unexpected events
• Integrity – ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Communication & contact – effective verbal and written communication with supervisors, colleagues, and external stakeholders
• Relationships with others – professional manner and constructive working relationships with all levels of staff
• Technology – strong knowledge of Microsoft and related software; ability to learn new systems as required

Pay Rate: $90,000 yr.–$95,000 yr.

*This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Compensation depends on education, qualifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, travel, and other factors. Bonuses and commissions remain at the Company’s sole discretion.
