Job summary

Ulta Beauty is hiring an Assistant Stylist to engage guests, consult on hair care, and promote products and services. This temporary position trains under an Elite or Master Stylist for the first 3 months, then gradually services guests independently in hair design, coloring, and makeup applications where applicable.

The role emphasizes guest service, learning new techniques, and following Ulta Beauty’s procedures and safety standards while contributing to sales and events.

Qualifications

• Cosmetology license is required.
• Solid foundational knowledge of current salon techniques for haircutting, coloring, styling, and related services.
• Ability to learn and demonstrate pro hair care and makeup products, and to advise guests.

Responsibilities

• Engage guests and consult on hair care needs to recommend products and services.
• Support and be mentored by an Elite or Master Stylist during the first months and gradually service guests on your own after month three.
• Deliver exceptional guest service and help achieve store goals for retail and service sales.
• Demonstrate products and services to guests and participate in in-store events and promotions.
