General Summary & Scope
The Assistant Stylist is responsible for engaging with guests, consulting with them on their hair care needs, and recommending products and services. This is a temporary position aimed at preparing talent for a stylist role, focusing on performance, people, and process. Mentorship is provided initially, with responsibilities expanding over time to include servicing guests independently. A passion for beauty, exceptional guest service, and willingness to learn are essential.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional guest service and meet or exceed sales goals related to retail, services, guest loyalty, and shrink reduction.
- Support mentor Stylist in achieving sales and productivity targets through recommendations, service assistance, and retail suggestions.
- Perform hair services after the initial training period, including cuts, color, styling, treatments, and other salon services.
- Conduct product demonstrations and support in-store events to enhance guest experience and sales.
- Stay informed on industry trends, products, and services to better serve guests.
- Maintain regular attendance and adhere to operational standards.
People
- Develop and maintain guest relationships through consultations and recommendations.
- Serve all guests efficiently, under mentorship initially, progressing to independent service.
- Collaborate with skin therapists and retail teams to provide comprehensive guest experiences.
- Build professional relationships with peers and brand partners.
- Promote the guest loyalty program and app benefits.
Process
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety, sanitation, and infection control procedures.
- Follow established service protocols to ensure consistency and quality.
- Use booking and client management systems effectively.
- Communicate supply needs and maintain store cleanliness and organization.
- Attend required training and meetings, adhere to dress code, and follow loss prevention practices.
