Pet Supplies Plus 4173 is seeking an Assistant Store Team Leader to help run daily store operations, lead the team by example, and deliver exceptional customer service for pets and their families. You will support the Store Team Leader and contribute to a welcoming, pet-centric environment.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, relationship-building in the community, and hands-on supervision of store functions, including deliveries and safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of retail or customer-facing leadership experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred (High School Diploma/GED required).
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office or similar tools.
• Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physical tasks (climbing, bending, kneeling).
• Must be 18+ years old and able to meet hiring requirements set by the local franchise owner.
• Must be able to calmy and responsibly deal with unexpected situations.
• This role will be the main leader of the pack in unloading and putting away our weekly delivery, lifting 50 lbs and performing physical tasks for the extended part of the day is a requirement for this position.

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and support to team members.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-run store environment (including animal care and safety).
• Build relationships within the community and support local events and partnerships.
• Help create a fun, positive culture where both pets and people feel at home.
